Hyundai Motor Group, the parent of Hyundai Motor (KRX:005380) and Kia (KRX:000270), aims for complete autonomous urban driving by 2029, with production of Atria AI-powered Level 2++ vehicles targeted for the second half of the same year, the group said Sunday.
Atria AI is Hyundai Motor Group's proprietary autonomous driving artificial intelligence.
The group will integrate NVIDIA's validated vehicle AI computing platform and autonomous driving software into its software-defined vehicle (SDV) architecture and begin producing vehicles equipped with NVIDIA solutions-based Level 2+ autonomous driving capabilities targeted for H1 2028, the release said.
Shares of Hyundai Motor fell 3%, while those of Kia declined nearly 2% in recent trade.
