HSBC (HSBC) is in early talks to offload billions of pounds in UK pension assets after receiving interest from insurers, Bloomberg News reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
The report said that the bank has discussed transferring assets from its 18.7 billion pound ($25.1 billion) UK pension pot, which had a 5.26 billion pound surplus as of December 2025, according to HSBC UK's annual report.
The discussions are based on inbound inquiries, and HSBC has not started a formal process, the report said.
HSBC didn't immediately reply to' request for comment.
