Honda Motor (TYO:7267) has started battery production for energy storage systems for artificial intelligence data centers at its Ohio plant after slowing EV demand, Nikkei Asia reported June 27.
The company started battery production for data centers in partnership with South Korea-based LG Energy Solution in June and plans to start battery production for hybrid vehicles at the facility in 2028.
Moving ahead, the company will adjust its battery output between ESS and batteries for hybrid vehicles and expects to launch 15 hybrid vehicle models in the US by fiscal 2029.
