Honda Motor (TYO:7267) is finalizing talks on a hybrid vehicle plant in the US, with an estimated investment ranging from 300 billion yen to 400 billion yen, Nikkei Asia reported Thursday, citing sources.

The Japanese automaker plans to build the plant in Ohio as early as 2027, with a target operation date in 2030, the report said.

The new plant could produce 250,000 vehicles per year, according to the report.

Honda Motor did not immediately respond to' request for comment.
