Market Chatter: Hitachi to Use AI Agents for All Steps of Enterprise Systems Development

Hitachi (TYO:6501) will use agentic AI in all steps of developing enterprise systems, Nikkei Asia reported Saturday.

Shares of the technology company rose more than 2% in recent trade.

The company currently uses AI for 60% of its development process, but will soon employ agents for its entirety, including requirement definition and programming, maintenance, and operation, the report said.

The move will allow the company to significantly boost productivity while maintaining security, the report cited Hitachi's AI business head Atsushi Motoyama as saying.

A use case includes a test of Hitachi's solution at Shizuoka Bank that led to a 30% rise in productivity for portions of its accounting system development process, the report said.

The tech company looks for a 30% increase in the productivity of the development process for the fiscal year ending March 2028 compared with fiscal 2023, according to the report.

Infoline Tec Group Seeks Shareholder Nod to Acquire Buildings for New Head Office

Infoline Tec Group (KLSE:INFOTEC) is seeking shareholders' approval for its wholly-owned subsidiary, Infoline IT Solutions, to acquire two adjoining intermediate units from Huayi (SEA) and Orionis Technology, respectively, for a total of 18.6 Malaysian ringgit, according to a Monday filing to Bursa Malaysia.The investor approval will be sought at the upcoming extraordinary general meeting on Aug. 28.The company's shares were down nearly 6% in recent trade.The acquired units will be used to set up the company's new head office.
