HighPeak Energy (HPK) is exploring a potential sale after receiving acquisition interest, as the US oil and gas producer weighs strategic options for its Permian Basin assets, Reuters reported on Thursday, citing industry sources.
The US producer is working with investment bankers at Evercore (EVR) and Texas Capital Securities to gauge interest from potential buyers. Discussions took place recently after HighPeak received an acquisition approach from an international party.
HighPeak operates primarily in the Midland portion of the Permian Basin. The company holds more than 140,000 net acres in the region and produced approximately 45,500 barrels of oil equivalent per day in H1.
The company's exploration of a sale follows a wave of multibillion-dollar deals in the Midland and Delaware sub-basins as producers seek scale to boost efficiencies. HighPeak did not immediately reply to' request for comment.
