The top bosses of German companies BASF, Thyssenkrupp, and Siemens Energy will tag along with Economy Minister Katherina Reiche's trip to China next week, Reuters reported Thursday, citing the companies.
Reiche will visit Beijing from May 26 to 29, the report said.
Germany, the world's number three economy, has been exposed to the risks of Chinese competition and U.S. tariffs, the report said.
The visit highlights Germany's dependence on Chinese raw materials and purchasing power, while being a leading rival in the automotive, energy, and technology sectors, Reuters said.
Reiche's visit will come three months after Chancellor Friedrich Merz's trip to Beijing, according to the newswire.
