Formosa Plastics (TPE:1301) expects stronger earnings momentum in 2026, with management forecasting a sharp rebound in second-quarter profit followed by a potential return to full-year profitability, CNA reported Thursday, citing Chairman Kuo Wen-pi.
He said second-quarter results are likely to improve significantly from the first quarter, supported by higher petrochemical prices and tighter supply conditions stemming from disruptions in Middle East capacity, according to the report.
Despite an expected NT$10 billion loss in 2025, the company pointed to improving margins, seasonal demand strength, and downstream investment gains as factors supporting the outlook, while maintaining a NT$0.5 per share cash dividend, CNA said.
