A fire broke out at Russia's Black Sea port of Novorossiysk after a major overnight Ukrainian drone strike, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, with Nasa detecting several heat anomalies by satellite at the major hub for oil and grain exports.
Several hundred Ukrainian drones targeted Novorossiysk and the whole of the surrounding Krasnodar region in overnight strikes, the report said, citing local officials.
NASA data indicated blazes near a grain terminal and naval base close to Transneft PJSC's Sheskharis oil terminal. The article said that while no fire was detected at the oil terminal, such an event could not be excluded due to limited location accuracy.
In a Telegram post, Veniamin Kondratyev, the governor of Russia's Krasnodar Krai region, said "several hundred Armed Forces of Ukraine drones" attacked civilian facilities and private homes in Novorossiysk, Anapa, Gelendzhik, and the Temryuksky district throughout the night, injuring several.
