EQT (EQT)'s natural gas output is expected to increase this year amid higher global demand, despite lower capital spending, Chief Executive Toby Rice told Reuters in an interview Tuesday.
In its Q2 results, EQT reduced its 2026 capital spending guidance by $25 million, while raising production guidance by around 90 billion cubic feet of gas equivalent.
Future output could reach a record as producers wait for a favorable price environment, Rice told the news agency. EQT reportedly has a shut-in program, which has generated more than $200 million a year in value by adjusting sales volume depending on prices.
The company's recent projects to expand gas distribution include the proposed 50-mile pipeline from Pennsylvania to Ohio and the expansion of the Mountain Valley Pipeline from West Virginia to Virginia, according to the report. Around 2030-2031, EQT is expected to sell around 6 million metric tons per year of liquefied natural gas.
