DeepSeek seeks to raise close to $8 billion at the resumption of its second funding round, according to a Bloomberg News report on Thursday, citing insiders.

Chinese investment manager Monolith Management is in talks to contribute to the fundraising, with the targeted funds based on a valuation of almost 500 billion yuan, the report said.

The fundraising was previously suspended in July due to frustration over leaked remarks from the artificial intelligence firm's founder to investors. Discussions are currently being held for the resumed funding round and details are not yet finalized, the sources told the media outlet.
