Coal India (BOM:533278, NSE:COALINDIA) has applied to the Singapore authorities to register its first international trading office in the country, Reuters reported Thursday citing two sources.
The move comes in order for the company to expand into the trading of iron ore and critical and strategic minerals, as well as for overseas asset acquisitions, according to the sources.
State-owned miner Coal India did not immediately respond to' request for a comment.
