China's exports of tungsten to Japan halved in April from the 2025 monthly average following Beijing's export restrictions on the mineral, Nikkei Asia reported Friday.
The restrictions forced Japanese firms to look for other sources of the metal, increasing imports of tungsten scrap from the U.S. and elsewhere, the report said.
Tungsten is used to manufacture carbide tools for aircraft and automobile parts, the report said.
