China is investigating a former vice chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission over suspected "serious violations" of the law, according to state media CCTV on late Friday.
Former Vice Chairman Fang Xinghai is currently being probed by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision, without further detailing the charges, the media outlet said.
Fang, who joined the CSRC in 2015, was removed from the post in 2024 without disclosing the reasons, Bloomberg News reported.
