Market Chatter: Chinese President to Visit US for Talks With Trump

Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit the US from Sept. 23 to 25 at the invitation of President Donald Trump, multiple media outlets reported Monday, citing China's Foreign Ministry.

Xi and Trump will hold in-depth discussions on China-US relations and issues involving world peace and development, the reports said, citing Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun. Guo added that China is willing to strengthen dialogue and cooperation and manage differences with the US.

The visit will be the second in-person meeting between Xi and Trump within six months, according to the reports.

China's Foreign Ministry said the exchange is intended to provide strategic guidance for China-US relations and contribute to stability and cooperation between the two countries, the reports said.
