China is hindering the progress of humanoid robot companies that are applying for initial public offerings due to retail-investor concerns, Reuters reported Monday, citing insiders.
Concerns were triggered after Unitree Robotics (SHA:688836) skyrocketed 629% at its Shanghai Stock Exchange debut, but dropped 55% from its peak, the report said.
Market regulators have used the informal "window guidance" to slow down the listings of such companies, effectively freezing them, although there is no formal ban, the insiders told the media outlet.
The China Securities Regulatory Commission did not immediately reply to' request for comment.
