China's export of yttrium oxide to the U.S. rose to 29 metric tons in July, becoming the second-highest since Beijing imposed rare earth export curbs in April 2025, Reuters reported Thursday, citing data from Chinese customs.
The shipments came ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping's trip to the U.S. in September. The talks will cover trade issues between the two countries, the report said.
The rare earth material is used for aerospace and other critical aviation applications.
