China's state-owned pipeline giant PipeChina is preparing the newly built Longkou liquefied natural gas terminal to handle cargoes from Russia's Arctic LNG 2 project, Reuters reported Monday, citing three sources with knowledge of the matter.
The move will give the sanctioned Arctic LNG 2 project an additional route to export gas beyond the current Beihai terminal in Guangxi, the report said.
Russia's energy ministry, Novatek, Arctic LNG 2's majority owner, and China's National Energy Administration did not immediately respond to requests for comment from.
