Lithium futures on the Guangzhou Futures Exchange in China slid about 9% over the past two trading days following reports that Contemporary Amperex Technology's (SHE:300750, HKG:3750) Jianxiawo mine would restart in the second half after shutting down in 2025 due to permit issues, Bloomberg reported Monday.
CATL's notice did not confirm when the mine would resume operations but could be a procedural measure related to land use, the report said, citing the Department of Natural Resources of Jiangxi, China.
