Market Chatter: CATL Develops New Battery Technology for US Vehicles

Contemporary Amperex Technology (SHE:300750, HKG:3750), or CATL, has developed a new battery design for U.S. pickup trucks, the Financial Times reported, citing chief technology officer Zhu Lingbo.

The company developed the batteries amid ongoing trade and national security tensions between Washington and Beijing, according to the report.

The batteries have already been tested by U.S. automakers, Zhu said, without identifying the companies.
