BYD (HKG:1211, SHE:002594) has dropped plans to build its own assembly plant in Malaysia, Nikkei reported, citing a media briefing by managing director Jacob Ma.
The carmaker is finalizing documents with an established local player that has the capacity to meet its requirements and support assembly operations, Ma said, according to the report.
