Some Asian refiners have reportedly asked Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (SASE:2222), d/b/a Saudi Aramco, whether they could take delivery of their oil shipments at Egypt's Sidi Kerir port instead of the Saudi Yanbu port after recent attacks on tankers and energy infrastructure in the Red Sea.
Bloomberg News reported Monday, citing unnamed traders, that at least two Asian refiners have made the request for their September cargoes.
Aramco has asked Japanese and South Korean refiners to use the Sidi Kerir port to collect their September shipments. However, most of the processors from China, Taiwan, and India were asked to pick up cargoes from the Yanbu port.
Aramco did not immediately respond to a request for comment from.
