Apple's (AAPL) upcoming camera-equipped AirPods, a product meant to push the company into the AI device market, are scheduled to launch in late 2027, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The company aims to release the new AirPods around the same time as its foldable phone and a new iPhone model.

The new AirPods are designed to be Apple's first AI-focused wearable product, with computer-vision cameras not intended to capture photos or video but instead to act as sensors that feed visual context into Siri, according to the report.
