Amazon-backed (AMZN) Anthropic is considering allowing secondary stock sales in its upcoming initial public offering, The Information reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the process.
Letting existing shareholders sell some stock in the IPO would distinguish the AI company from SpaceX (SPCX) and Cerebras (CBRS), which didn't have secondary stock sales in their listings this year, the report said.
Anthropic is also mulling longer-than-usual lockup periods for sales after it goes public, the report said, citing the people.
Anthropic didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from.
