Amazon (AMZN) has cut jobs in parts of its artificial general intelligence organization, without disclosing the exact numbers of affected employees, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

Amazon said that despite the cuts, it remains committed to investing in artificial intelligence, describing the layoffs as part of the company's efforts to prioritize the initiatives that are believed to have the greatest impact for its customers, according to the report.

Amazon did not immediately respond to' request for comment.
