Market Chatter: AI Cloud Firm Nscale in Talks to Raise Up to $3.5 Billion in Pre-IPO Financing

AI cloud computing firm Nscale is looking to sell up to $1.5 billion of convertible notes to a group of investors ahead of its planned initial public offering, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The London-based company is also trying to secure about $2 billion in financing from Nvidia (NVDA), the report said, citing one of the people.

Nscale didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from.

Shenwan Hongyuan (SHE:000166, HKG:6806) said its 800 million yuan bonds issued in 2023 are set for delisting on Sept. 7 following final redemption, according to a Shenzhen bourse filing on Thursday.The three-year bond, which has a coupon rate of 2.85%, is set to mature and be redeemed on Saturday, Sept. 5.An interest of 28.50 yuan for every 10 bonds will be paid to bondholders, but the value will decrease to 22.80 yuan after tax withholding.The Chinese securities brokerage's Hong Kong shares rose 3%, while Shenzhen shares rose 1% during Friday's morning trade.

Bank of Hangzhou Completes 15 Billion Yuan Bond Issuance

Bank of Hangzhou (SHA:600926) has completed a 15 billion yuan bond issuance, according to a Friday disclosure with the Shanghai Stock Exchange.The offering comprises two series: a 13 billion yuan tranche carrying a three-year term with a coupon rate of 1.57%, and a three-year second tranche valued at 2 billion yuan with an initial coupon rate of 1.61% linked to the one-year loan prime rate.Proceeds will be used for its lending operations and other purposes.The lender's shares rose 1% during the morning trade.
