Market Chatter: Accent Group Chairman Faces Renewed Pressure From Frasers Group to Resign

By

Accent Group (ASX:AX1) Chairman Lawrence Myers is facing renewed pressure from British retail conglomerate Frasers Group to resign immediately, the Australian Financial Review reported Wednesday, citing a same-day letter Frasers CFO Chris Wootton sent to Myers.

In the letter, which follows Accent Group reporting largely flat sales and lower earnings for the year ended June 30, Frasers said Accent's fiscal 2026 results were underwhelming, and the company's share price has declined roughly 30% under Myers' tenure, according to the report.

Frasers has proposed to acquire all Accent Group shares it does not already own for AU$0.65 each in cash.

Accent Group did not immediately respond to a request for comment from.
