Malaysia's coincident index, which measures current economic performance, rose 2.6% month over month in June to 131.6 points from 131.2 points in May, according to the Department of Statistics Malaysia on Monday.
On an annual basis, the index grew 0.3%.
The pickup in economic momentum was largely driven by strong growth in all components, particularly the real contributions, employees provident fund, and the volume index of retail trade.
