LX Semicon (KRX:108320) said that it has started mass production of its automotive motor control microcontroller unit, LX61101, for supply to South Korean automakers Hyundai Motor (KRX:005380) and Kia (KRX:000270), according to a Monday release.
The company said that the new chips, designed for motor control in automotive body electronics, will be used in window safety and vehicle aerodynamics systems.
The new chips will be used in Hyundai Motor and Kia vehicles scheduled to enter production in the second half of this year.
