LS Electric (KRX:010120) said it signed a joint venture deal with US-based energy equipment maker GE Vernova, strengthening its competitiveness in the voltage-source converter high-voltage direct current business, according to a Wednesday release.
The South Korean electrical equipment maker said the joint venture, to be named Grid X Technology, will develop joint offerings and strategies covering supply of key equipment and joint execution of HVDC projects in South Korea.
The partnership will also establish a framework to support South Korea's power-grid development and expand HVDC business globally.
