Lotus Resources Appoints Sam Penglis as Chief Operating Officer; Chief Commercial Officer Stepping Down

Lotus Resources (ASX:LOT) said it appointed Sam Penglis as chief operating officer permanently, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.

Penglis has held the role on an interim basis since May.

Lotus also said Hayden Bartrop is taking a career break and will step down as company secretary and chief commercial officer, effective Sept. 11. Fletcher Hancock will assume the general counsel and company secretary role, effective Sept. 21, with CFO Melissa Roberts serving as company secretary until Sept. 21.

Lotus Resources shares gained 2% in recent Thursday trade.

Viva Goods Ups Stake in Sportswear Giant Li Ning

Viva Goods (HKG:0933) has purchased 29.6 million shares of Chinese sportswear giant Li Ning (HKG:2331) for HK$398.4 million as an investment, according to a Tuesday bourse filing.The company said it bought the shares through open market transactions at an average price of HK$13.45 apiece.Following the transaction, Viva's stakeholding in Li Ning rose to 16.9%, with ownership of 437.2 million shares.
