Lindian Resources (ASX:LIN) completed the first production blast at its Kangankunde project in Malawi, marking the start of active mining operations, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.
The blast drilled, charged, and fired across 206 blast holes, fragmenting roughly 13,100 tonnes of material, including about 5,500 tonnes of ore, the filing said.
First production is expected in the fourth quarter of the year, per the filing.
