Leidos Holdings (LDOS) won a $2.7 billion US Army contract to advance hypersonic weapons programs from prototyping to production.
The award combines the Thermal Protection Shield and Common Hypersonic Glide Body programs, a move intended to streamline development and accelerate delivery for both the Army and the Navy, Leidos said Tuesday in a statement.
The contract is expected to reduce production timelines and strengthen the supply chain for components, the company said.
