Lam Research (LRCX) and NY Creates are collaborating on a program to train about 3,500 students in semiconductor process integration over the next five years, the organizations said Wednesday.
The program is expected to use Lam's SEMulator3D virtual fabrication software to provide hands-on learning across NY Creates' network of partner colleges and universities in the Northeast U.S., according to a statement.
The collaboration supports the National Network for Microelectronics Education Northeast initiative, as well as broader state and regional semiconductor workforce goals, the statement said.
