Lachlan Star's (ASX:LSA) maiden 13-hole diamond drilling program intersected high-grade gold at the New Waverley gold project in Western Australia, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.
Drilling hit intercepts including 6.2 meters at 8.6 grams per tonne (g/t) grade of gold from 46.9 meters, as well as 4.6 meters at 4.2 g/t grade of gold from 18.5 meters.
The company plans to start follow-up reverse circulation drilling program of around 2,400 meters in June, the filing said.
The company's shares fell nearly 3% in recent trading on Monday.
