Former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who was fired in March, has received interest from multiple critical minerals companies seeking her advisory services, Bloomberg reported Tuesday.
In June, Noem joined Vancouver-based NovaRed Mining's advisory board as the company works to expand its critical minerals footprint in North America, according to the report.
NovaRed is exploring potential opportunities to acquire a mine in the US while working toward eventually supplying copper to the country, Noem told Bloomberg.
She said companies are aware that her relationships could help connect them with useful contacts to support their growth.
NovaRed has yet to discover a proven copper deposit in Canada and remains in early exploration, with an initial drill program planned this fall at its Wilmac copper-gold project in British Columbia, the report said.
