Korea Zinc Reports Fatal Accident at Onsan Refinery Plant

Korea Zinc (KRX:010130) said a serious industrial accident occurred at Onsan Refinery Plant 2 on Sept. 16, when a worker performing panel work on the roof stepped on a nearby skylight panel, causing it to break.

During the fall, the safety-belt lanyard worn by the worker also ruptured, resulting in a fall to the level below and one fatality, with no injuries reported.

The company reported the accident to Korea's Ministry of Employment and Labor on the same day, according to a bourse filing on Thursday.
