Kopin Secures $15 Million Order for MicroLED-Based AI Interconnect Technology With Fabric.AI

By

-- Kopin (KOPN) said Tuesday it has secured a $15 million initial development order from Fabric.AI (SBLX) to fund a demonstration chipset under a collaboration to develop MicroLED-based optical interconnect technology for artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Under the deal, Kopin said it will serve as the exclusive manufacturer of the chipsets and own a 19.9% stake in Fabric.AI.

The technology is designed to enable ultra-high-speed, low-power data transfer between GPUs and high-performance processors for smart data centers, potentially replacing traditional copper wiring, the company said.

Separately, Fabric.AI said it is in preliminary discussions with AI and hyperscale companies to integrate the interconnect technology with systems.

Fabric.AI also said it plans to raise about $21.5 million through a private placement of 21,500 shares of its series K convertible preferred stock priced at $1,000 per share, convertible at $2.51 per share and accompanied by warrants with the same exercise price.

The offering is expected to close around Wednesday, subject to customary conditions, the company said.

Kopin shares were down over 6% in Tuesday trading, while Fabric.AI shares were up more than 36%.

Air Canada Price Target Cut to $25.50 at Stifel Canada

Stifel Canada trimmed its price target on Air Canada (AC.TO) shares to $25.50 from $28.00 while maintaining its buy rating ahead of the company reporting its first-quarter results after market close on April 30.Analyst Daryl Young expects the results to be relatively strong, despite challenges related to winter storms, Cuba fuel crises, Mexico safety disruptions, and the Middle East conflict. "However, the key focus will be the durability of demand and pace of fuel price pass-through heading into the peak Q3 period (traditionally >40% of EBITDA)."Young believes demand has remained resilient. Air Canada is also well-positioned versus smaller Canadian peers given its scale, flexible fleet, and segmented offering, he points out."We expect AC to lower its full-year 2026 guidance alongside Q1/26 results or possibly withdraw it altogether, in favour of quarter-to-quarter guidance pending fuel price stability."Price: $18.30, Change: $-0.22, Percent Change: -1.19%
