Kopin Adds OLED Manufacturing Capability to Massachusetts Facility

Kopin (KOPN) said Monday it purchased an OLED Deposition system and related equipment to establish OLED microdisplay production at its Massachusetts headquarters to meet rising domestic demand for defense applications.

Kopin will continue to utilize its Asian manufacturing partners for consumer and medical applications that do not have a domestic production requirement, and its European OLED deposition partner for NATO-aligned defense programs, according to the company.

The new OLED manufacturing capability at the company's Westborough facility bolsters its ability to improve control over quality, lead times, and pricing, according to a statement.
