Kokusai Electric (TYO:6525) posted a 71% year-over-year increase in net income attributable to owners of the parent to 11.6 billion yen for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 from 6.8 billion yen.
The Japan-based semiconductor manufacturer's earnings per share increased to 49.37 yen from 28.97 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo Stock Exchange filing on Thursday.
Revenues jumped 46% to 75.4 billion yen from 51.8 billion yen in the year-ago period.
In a separate filing, the company raised its forecast for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, with an attributable income of 55.5 billion yen, a basic EPS of 237.63 yen, and revenue to 340 billion yen as growing demand for generative AI-related applications in the semiconductor market expands further.
Kokusai Electric also plans to pay an interim dividend of 32 yen per share and a year-end dividend of 33 yen per share for the current fiscal year.
