Kodiak Gas to Supply 76 MW of Power to West Texas Data Center

Kodiak Gas Services (KGS) said Monday it has entered into a six-year agreement to supply 76 megawatts of behind-the-meter, baseload power capacity to a data center in West Texas.

Under the deal, Kodiak will deploy about 40 reciprocating natural gas-fueled generation units. The customer is a data center operator contracted with an investment-grade-rated hyperscaler, backed by a GPU designer as the lease guarantor.

The energy firm said deployment of the power assets is scheduled to begin in Q4 and scale through Q1 2027, with revenue recognition expected to commence in the quarter.

Kodiak is targeting 2 gigawatts of power generation capacity by 2030, and it has a pipeline of additional power projects.
