Kirin Holdings (TYO:2503) agreed to acquire Canada-based wellness and integrative health services provider Jamieson Wellness for 218.3 billion yen, according to a Friday filing with the Tokyo Exchange.
The Japanese beverage company will acquire 41.4 million shares in Jamieson at CAD$45.75 apiece.
Jamieson said in a separate press release that the purchase price represents a 27% premium to the 20-day volume weighted average price of its shares.
The acquisition is expected to be completed in October or later, Kirin said.
Jamieson Wellness, headquartered in Toronto, manufactures, distributes, and sells vitamins, minerals, and supplement products primarily in North America.
Shares of the Japanese beverage company added over 3% in recent trade.
