Kioxia (TYO:285A) launched the GP1 Series PCIe 6.0 NVMe SSDs, the first in its new GP line designed for GPU direct access to accelerate AI workloads, according to a statement on Tuesday.
The drives can handle up to 10 million data operations per second using KIOXIA's advanced XL-FLASH memory, allowing AI systems to expand storage capacity at a lower cost than adding more high-performance memory.
Evaluation samples will be offered to select customers by year‑end, with the product showcased at the FMS conference in Santa Clara this week.
The architecture is designed to scale to 100 million IOPS in future generations, offering higher performance, finer data access and lower power use than conventional TLC SSDs.
