Kia's Global Sales in May Rise 2.7%

Kia's (KRX:000270) global sales increased 2.7% year on year in May to 277,715 units from 270,424 in the same month last year, according to a release on Monday.

The increase was mainly driven by strong sales of its Sportage and Seltos SUVs, which brought in sales numbers of 52,293 units and 29,208 units, respectively, the release showed.

The carmaker's K4 sedan also registered 21,488 units in sales.

Kia's sales jumped 3.4% on-year to 232,781 units in overseas markets, but declined 0.6% to 44,713 units at home in May, the South Korean carmaker said.

Gold 50 Says Drilling at Arizona Project Confirm Polymetallic Gold-Silver-Zinc Discovery

Gold 50 (ASX:G50) said results from six core and seven reverse circulation drill holes at the Golconda project in Arizona confirmed a polymetallic gold-silver-zinc discovery over a strike length of 1.3 kilometers, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.The drilling results included 16.8 meters at 4.34 grams per tonne grade of gold and 68.8g/t grade of silver from 216.4 meters, as well as 15.2 meters at 8.24 g/t grade of gold and 59.89 g/t grade of silver from 48.8 meters.The drilling also confirmed that the alteration zones associated with precious and base metal mineralized zones at Golconda host gallium. Four planned holes remain to be drilled in the Golden Eagle Mine area.

Challenger Gold Pours First Gold Bar From Argentina Project

Challenger Gold (ASX:CEL) poured its first gold bar from the Hualilán gold project in Argentina under a toll milling agreement with Austral Gold (ASX:AGD), according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.The first pour produced around 200 kilograms of doré estimated to contain 500 ounces of gold and 6,000 ounces of silver from around 15,000 tonnes of ore, the filing said.The agreement provides Challenger an annual guaranteed processing capacity of 150,000 tonnes and a total secured capacity of 450,000 tonnes over a three-year term.
