Keymed Biosciences Receives $257 Million Upfront Payment After Gilead-Ouro Deal Close

Keymed Biosciences (HKG:2162) received an upfront payment of $257 million following the completion of Gilead Sciences' acquisition of Ouro Medicines, according to a Friday Hong Kong bourse filing.

Under the transaction, Gilead acquired all equity interests in Ouro Medicines for an upfront payment of $1.68 billion and potential milestone payments of up to $500 million.

The company said its existing licensing agreement with Ouro Medicines remains in effect, preserving its eligibility for up to $610 million in development and commercial milestones, as well as tiered royalties on net sales.

Australian shares continued their retreat on Friday as the prospects of a peace agreement between the US and Iran seemed distant.The S&P/ASX 200 Index dropped 0.7%, or 61 points, to close at 8,625.10.Brent crude oil futures were trading at around $95 per barrel as traders await more clarity on US-Iran talks.The Hezbollah militia rejected a new ceasefire in Lebanon, and Israel said it would not withdraw troops from the country, Reuters reported.The iron ore price in Singapore reached $100.85 per tonne, a three-month low.On the domestic front, the number of seasonally adjusted filled jobs in Australia rose 0.6% to 16.2 million in the March quarter, following a 0.3% increase in the December 2025 quarter, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said. Shijiazhuang's Subsidiary Signs 150 Million Yuan Loan Agreement; Shares Down 3%

Shijiazhuang Shangtai Technology's (SHE:001301) subsidiary, Shangtai (Hong Kong), entered into a loan agreement with the Hebei branch of Bank of Communications (SHA: 601328; HKG: 3328) for 150 million yuan, according to a Shenzhen bourse filing on Friday.The loan will be used for working capital and carries a credit period of 12 months.Shijiazhuang will serve as a guarantor for the loan, with a maximum guaranteed claim of 155 million yuan.Shares of the lithium-ion battery anode material manufacturer fell 3% in afternoon trading.
