KDDI (TYO:9433) profit attributable to owners of the parent jumped 22% to 195.5 billion yen for the fiscal first quarter from 160.1 billion yen a year earlier.
The telecommunications operator's earnings per share rose to 51.33 yen from 40.22 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Friday.
Operating revenue increased 5.1% to 1.487 trillion yen for the three months ended June 30 from 1.416 trillion yen.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, the company expects adjusted profit attributable to owners of the parent of 731.0 billion yen, adjusted basic EPS of 196.29 yen, adjusted operating income of 1.21 trillion yen and operating revenue of 6.41 trillion yen.
The company plans to pay interim and year-end dividends of 42 yen per share, each, totaling 84 yen for the fiscal year.
