Kawasaki Heavy Industries (TYO:7012) posted a 269% year-over-year surge in attributable profit for the fiscal first quarter to 15.7 billion yen from 4.24 billion yen.
Basic EPS was 18.74 yen, compared with 5.07 yen a year earlier, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Friday.
Revenue grew 11% to 543.6 billion yen from 488.4 billion yen for the three months ended June 30.
In a separate filing, the automaker raised its full-year attributable profit forecast to 115.0 billion yen from 110.0 billion yen.
The company also expects basic EPS of 133.12 yen, and revenue of 2.560 trillion yen.
The company plans to pay interim and year-end dividends of 20 yen per share each for the current year, which is lower from the year-ago period.
Shares of the company fell nearly 2% in recent trade.
