Kansai Electric Power's (TYO:9503) profit attributable to owners of the parent jumped 38.2% to 137.1 billion yen for the fiscal first quarter, from 99.2 billion yen a year earlier.
The electric utility company's basic earnings per share climbed to 123.02 yen from 89.01 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Friday.
Net sales grew 9.8% to 1.008 trillion yen for the three months ended June 30 from 917.8 billion yen.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, Kansai Electric forecasts an attributable profit of 310.00 billion yen, EPS of 278.23 yen and net sales of 4.500 trillion yen.
The company expects to pay interim and year-end dividends of 40.00 yen per share each for the current fiscal year.
