Kansai Electric Power (TYO:9503) will carry out changes in electricity rates for extra-high-voltage, high-voltage, and low-voltage customers starting Nov. 1, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Wednesday.
The company will also revise the standard plans for extra-high-voltage and high-voltage customers, mainly corporate customers.
The changes are in line with revisions to wheeling charges of general transmission and distribution companies, which will be effective on the same date.
The revisions also reflect the electric utility's efficiency improvements as well as rising costs that have impacted regulatory schemes in retail electricity supply.
The company will announce specific electricity unit rates on its website.
Shares of the company fell nearly 2% in recent trade.
