Junshi Biosciences Drug Meets Main Goal of Lung Cancer Study

Shanghai Junshi Biosciences (HKG:1877, SHA:688180) said its cancer therapy toripalimab met the main goal of a phase 3 study in lung cancer, according to a Tuesday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.

The company's shares fell over 3% in late morning trade Wednesday.

Based on the final analysis of the trial, the drug met the primary endpoints of event-free survival and major pathological response in subjects with stage II-III non-small cell lung cancer, the firm said.

The company now plans to seek regulatory approval to expand the drug's coverage from perioperative treatment of patients with resectable stage III non-small cell lung cancer to those with stage II-III of the disease.

Xinte Energy (HKG:1799) has entered into a 500 million yuan finance lease agreement with Everbright Financial Leasing involving a sale-leaseback arrangement for its power plant equipment and facilities, according to a Tuesday Hong Kong bourse filing.The renewable energy company's shares fell nearly 5% in Wednesday's late-morning trading.Under the agreement, Xinte Energy will transfer ownership of assets, including boilers, steam turbine units, and generators, from its self-owned power plant to Everbright Financial Leasing and lease them back for five years.Net proceeds from the transaction will be used to repay the company's borrowings.

U.S. Allows Volvo to Continue Sales of Chinese Connected Cars

Volvo, which is majorly owned by Geely (HKG:0175), is allowed to continue importing connected cars to the U.S., avoiding the Trump administration's ban on Chinese cars.The U.S. Department of Commerce granted a permit to the Sweden-based automobile maker to import and sell connected vehicles in the country, according to a Tuesday press release.The Commerce Department placed a ban on Chinese connected cars and a 100% import tax on Chinese electric vehicles, according to a report on Bloomberg News.Volvo invested $1.3 billion into its U.S. operations to date and plans to bring two additional vehicles into production before 2030, the press release said.
